KubUltra Trail Run 2016

9:31 pm

Do you know, last 5th march 2016 there was KubUltra Trail Run at Taman Millenium, Kuala Kubu Bharu? Anyway Kuala Kubu Bharu in Selangor, Malaysia, is a township where it looks as if time has come to a standstill. It served as a fort during the Selangor civil war from 1867 to 1874, but is better known for the tragedy during which the Kuala Kubu dam burst open and flooded the town, affecting its tin mining activities and killing 33 people. It is the last township before the Sungai Selangor Dam and the famous hill resort Fraser’s Hill.

How amazing is that?
Trail run at beautiful place like Kuala Kubu Bharu.

There were five categories for KubUltra Trail Run:

KubUltra 5: an event for children, families, and newcomers (5 KM).
KubUltra 10: an event for children, families, newcomers, not so fit hikers and runners (10 KM).
KubUltra 20: an event for those who are not ready yet to go longer distances (20 KM).
KubUltra 40: an event for those willing to push themselves (40 KM).
KubUltra 60: an event for those looking for the real deal and to leave their comfort zone (60 KM).

A lot of local & foreign runners participated in KubUltra Trail Run and most of them were happy and enjoy with the experience and beautiful scenery of Kuala Kubu Bharu. Let's take a look few photos by Rany Tan:

It was challenging, but the experience are amazing. With the beautiful scenery of Kuala Kubu Bharu, everything was AWESOME! Thank you for the organizer (Asian Trail Explorers), supporting partners & sponsors (Malaysia Major Events, Tourism Selangor, Gatorade, Volume One, Running Malaysia Magazine etc)  and congratulations to all runners.  Hope there will be another KubUltra next year!
